THE biggest name in the world of YouTube golf reckons he’s found a new secret to the driver well.
And it revolves around something TINY.

Rick Shiels has amassed almost three millions followers on YouTube since he started doing instructional golf videos just over a decade ago.
He’s one of the most trusted voices when it comes to equipment, swing tips and insight into the game.
He was recently spotted filming with Scotland’s own Tom Stoltman– the three-time World’s Strongest Man winner – and gave him some hints around the course (whilst also learning about some of his weird request from crazed fans…).
Perhaps his next bit of advice will be to try a unique miniature version of a driver to improve his game.
In a recent video, Shiels tested out a 50cc driver from Mazel.
For comparison, most drivers these days have 460cc heads – making them almost ten times larger than this piece of kit.
In the video, Shiels explained that he would hit a few shots with his own driver, then the tiny version, before returning to hit a few more drives with the regular club.
The results were eye-opening.
Shiels began: “460cc is the maximum limit a driver head can be.
“Designed for speed, forgiveness, accuracy, and let’s be honest, it’s what we’ve now become accustomed to.
“BUT In this hand, I have a driver that is very, very different.
“This is a 50cc driver. I mean, talk about mini driver, this is a tiny, teeny weeny driver.
“when I first got sent this, I thought, ‘What the hell? Why, why would anybody make a 50cc driver?’
“But then, it got me thinking, there is a point. There’s a real valid point to this golf club.
“If you think about it, it’s a training aid. If you can hit that tiny, tiny driver from the middle of the sweet spot, imagine how easy that huge 460cc driver head is to hit in the middle?”
After explaining how he would use the club, Shiels then revealed how much it costs and how you could make use of it yourself.
He said: “And what’s fascinating, it’s $90. So it’s not like outrageously expensive.
“Like if you think of it as a training aid that’s gonna help you improve, as long as it works, that’s a pretty decent price.
“It’s like you might buy it in the off season, take it to a driving range. You might use it before you tee off on the first tee, so that when you do grab your normal driver, it looks gigantic.
“You know what, you might even just buy it as a bit of fun with your friends.
“Like, imagine having this in your regular group of four ball and the forfeit for three putting or something is that you’ve got to tee off for this in the next hole.
“I think it’s got a lot of benefits.”
Shiels smacked some drives away with his normal weapon of choice before switching things up.
And he remarked that the clubhead actually looked SMALLER than the golf ball it was about to connect with.
He initially struggled to hit the ball with the sweet spot.
But after a few swings, he started to see changes.
“Oh, yes! Look at that! Oh my goodness. I think I’ve completed golf,” he said after hitting one superb shot.
“I think I can retire forever. That is the straightest golf shot I think I’ve ever hit with that.”
He added: “I think the biggest thing that tiny club taught me was I don’t focus on the middle enough. I’m gonna really focus on a centred strike.”
After going back to his normal driver, Shiels admitted that while the miniature version didn’t produce magical improvements straight away, he could definitely see its benefits.
“I like the tiny head, I do.
“Should you avoid all costs, consider or buy straight away?
“It’s somewhere between buy straight away and consider, but I think I’d have to go with consider.
“It’s a good training aid, it is, and I do think it will help golfers.”
